All / Knitwear
Knitwear spans jumpers, cardigans, polos, gilets, and zip-ups, running from finer pieces worn under a jacket to heavier fleece and felted wool with enough weight and presence to work completely on their own. The category is built on the understanding that a good knit works across seasons and layering scenarios, performing equally well as a mid-layer under outerwear or as a standalone piece on mild days. Yarns vary deliberately. Wool provides warmth and recovery, bouncing back to shape after wear and developing a softer hand through time. Alpaca adds softness and insulation, though blends with nylon or wool offer more durability and resistance to pilling than pure alpaca. Cotton works for lighter weights designed for warmer weather or as layering pieces. Ramie and ramie-blended yarns offer breathability and ease for transitional seasons. Each fiber is chosen for how it performs, not just how it feels on first touch. Constructions range from plain crew necks and V-neck cardigans to polo collars, houndstooth checks, stripes, and melange weaves. Heavier pieces including fleece, felted wool, gilets, and hoodies sit at the substantial end of the spectrum and work as mid or light outer layers. Lighter gauge knits in fine yarns sit close to the body and layer cleanly under shirts and jackets without adding bulk. Sleeve length and body proportion are considered throughout, with armholes and shoulders placed to work comfortably over layered clothing or on their own. Most pieces recover their shape through wear and develop character over time. Pills that form are marks of use, not damage. Yarns soften. Colours develop subtle variations with washing and light. These are pieces built to be worn often, to settle in, to improve through repetition.
