Description
The Anorak Parka is constructed in a ripstop woven from domestically spun Finx cotton at a mill in Hamamatsu. Ripstop is traditionally a coarse-yarn construction. Here the use of Finx cotton produces a fabric that retains the structural integrity and grid reinforcement of ripstop while achieving a refined, lighter hand not typical of the weave. Sewing is carried out in Higashimurayama, Tokyo. The design is sampled from 1960s test materials developed at the Ladick Base, a military garment research laboratory. The silhouette and construction details follow the functional logic of that reference directly.
