The Boat-Neck Sweater sits at the centre of Lemaire's ongoing enquiry into the relationship between comfort and elegance. The boat neck, one of the most reductive necklines in knitwear, runs wide across the collar and sits flat on the collarbone, allowing the piece to read as refined without any superfluous detail. Cut in an oversized silhouette, it moves away from the body and into the generous proportions Lemaire has consistently favoured across its knitwear line. The fabric is a double-face virgin wool, in which two layers of knit are formed simultaneously and bonded as a single integrated cloth. The result is a dense, weighty structure with a smooth, consistent face on both sides and significantly greater insulating mass than a standard single-knit construction. Virgin wool designates first-use fibre that has not been previously processed or recycled, preserving its full natural elasticity and thermal performance. Side slits at the hem allow ease of movement within the oversized volume. Ribbed finishes at the cuffs and hem provide a clean, structured edge without constricting the silhouette. Made in Italy.
