Description
Baserange's Uro Pants are a pair of trousers in black, cut from organic cotton poplin, a plain-weave cloth. The trousers have an elasticated waistband and a drawstring at each cuff, with pockets set on both sides. The poplin is 100% organic cotton, which Baserange describes as a natural seed fibre that is durable, breathable, absorbent and soft.According to Baserange, the brand chooses organic cotton to keep harmful chemicals out of production, to control water use and contamination, and to protect workers' rights. It adds that most of the organic cotton it uses is rain-fed and needs little irrigation. Baserange's organic cotton carries GOTS, Oeko-Tex and OCS 100 certification.Baserange recommends a gentle cycle at 30°C at most, since heat and rubbing wear cotton out over time, and hanging the trousers to dry to avoid creases. Baserange also advises treating stains straight away, since by its account cotton takes them up more readily than synthetic fabrics, and avoiding bleach, which it says can discolour the fabric, as well as fabric softener, which coats the fibres and reduces their absorbency and breathability.
